OLYMPICS: Maze Most Successful Slovenian Winter Olympian
Ljubljana, 31 January - Slovenia's best female Alpine skier and reigning World Cup winner Tina Maze is the most successful Slovenian athlete at Winter Olympics with two silver medals from the 2010 Vancouver Games.
Maze won her first silver in women's Super G, following it up with silver in the giant slalom. She was also 5th in super combined, finishing only 0.35 seconds short of the podium.
The 30-year-old Maze is among the biggest stars of the upcoming Winter Games in Sochi. The French press agency AFP has for instance put her among the four main medal favourites in Alpine skiing.
