Northern Slovenia was hit by heavy rain and storms on Friday night. Buildings and roads were flooded, several landslides triggered and blocked local roads. In total, more than 230 events were recorded. The situation is most serious in the village of Kokra where a landslide damaged several houses.

Maribor, Slovenia's second largest city, recorded a 4% increase in the number of tourists in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2023, while the number of overnight stays remained almost the same. The local tourism board expects the positive trend will continue until the end of the year.
