Ljubljana, 1 October - The field of candidates for mayors and council members is crowded indeed this year: in 212 municipalities there are 703 candidates for mayor and 23,300 candidates for councillor. There is no shortage of TV and showbiz celebrities who hope to leverage their name recognition to win public office.
