Slovenians made history in referendum 25 years ago

Ljubljana, 22 December - A quarter of a century ago, Slovenians decided on their future in a referendum on the country's independence. By voting almost unanimously in favour of splitting away from Yugoslavia on 23 December 1990, they opted for a better life, more democracy and more civil rights, a historian believes.
