Seven candidates interested in running central bank

Seven candidates have responded to President Nataša Pirc Musar's call for applications for Slovenian central bank governor as Boštjan Vasle's six-year term expires on 8 January. The president's office only said it had received seven applications but revealed no names. Vasle said earlier this month he was vying for a second term.

A third support govt, a quarter for SDS in POP TV poll

The voter approval rating for the Robert Golob government has dropped further to just below a third (31.9%) in a poll commissioned by the commercial broadcaster POP TV, as the opposition Democrats (SDS) enjoy the support of nearly a quarter of (24.7%) of those questioned.

MPs start regular session with Q&A

The National Assembly will start its regular session on Monday with questions for government ministers. Prime Minister Robert Golob, who is in New York for UN functions, will be answering questions on 1 October. The main point on the session's agenda will be an ouster motion against Digital Transformation Minister Emilija Stojmenova Duh.
