Independent Slovenia gained crucial recognition 25 years ago
Ljubljana, 15 January - Twenty-five years to the day Slovenia's independence was recognised by the European Community, the EU's precursor. The crucial recognition came after the July 1991 Brijuni agreement, which ended the ten-day war in Slovenia and was the first international agreement between Slovenia and the European Community.
