Slovenia-Croatia bid to protect Istrian olive oil succeeds

Brussels, 27 February - Slovenia and Croatia have succeeded in their joint application for EU Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) for extra virgin olive oil from Istria under the name Istria olive oil. This is the second Slovenian-Croatian protection for an agricultural product, after the countries protected Istrian prosciutto together in 2015.
