Logar wins first round as moderate, SDS record notwithstanding

Ljubljana, 23 October - Anže Logar, 46, who won the first round of the presidential election, is a senior member of the Democratic Party (SDS) who served as foreign minister in the previous government. He is running as an independent and has sought to distance himself from the SDS although he is seen by many as a possible successor to the party's leader Janez Janša.
