Minister briefs commissioner on Natura 2000 deal with farmers

Ljubljana, 28 June - Agriculture Minister Irena Šinko informed EU Agriculture Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius in an talk on Wednesday that Slovenia would implement a voluntary scheme for farming on Natura 2000 sites rather than mandatory measures. The commissioner is not in favour of this, but stressed that this is a national decision, the ministry said.
