Ukraine sending chopper to Slovenia
Kyiv, 7 August - Among countries pledging aid to Slovenia is Ukraine. The war-stricken country will dispatch a helicopter that will help in search and rescue efforts following devastating floods, the government wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.
"The Ukrainian side will, in line with its capabilities, support its friends and partners that find themselves in trouble, just as Slovenia is supporting the Ukrainian nation and helping us divert Russian aggression," Oleg Nikolenko, spokesperson for Ukraine's Foreign Ministry, wrote on social media.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky already expressed solidarity and condolences to Slovenia on Sunday. "I wish all the victims a speedy recovery, to overcome the consequences of the disaster, and to restore homes and infrastructure," he wrote.
