MPs start proceedings to change constitution on judicial appointments

Ljubljana, 18 October - The National Assembly endorsed in Wednesday's 61:25 vote a decision to start changing the constitution to transfer judicial appointments from parliament onto the Slovenian president, and change the make-up of the Judicial Council, which vets the candidates. The parliamentary constitutional commission will now finalise a relevant bill.
