Slovenia's defence spending rising, to hit 2% of GDP in 2030

Ljubljana, 27 March - Slovenia has long been a laggard when it comes to defence spending and has been far from NATO's stated target that member states should allocate 2% of their GDP to defence. Spending has been rising gradually since 2017 and amounted to 1.34% of GDP in 2023 according to Defence Ministry data, but it is not projected to hit the 2% target before 2030.
