Decrease in irregular migration in first seven months, Syrians standing out
Ljubljana, 19 August - Slovenian police processed a total of 25,786 irregular migrants in the first seven months of 2024, a 4% decrease year-on-year. Syrians accounted for almost a third of all cases, with their number up more than tenfold. Afghan nationals follow, but their number is down by 30%. July was the busiest month this year, with 4,543 migrants intercepted.
