Transfer of Makarovič's prize money not in line with law

Ljubljana, 6 September - The Court of Audit has established that the Culture Ministry's decision to transfer Prešeren Prize money to author Svetlana Makarovič 23 years after she received the award but rejected it was not in line with public finances legislation's principles of efficiency and economy. Makarovič changed her mind in 2023 and demanded the money.
