New cycling route promoting tourism in Goriška
Miren, 1 April - A new cycling route has opened to connect three wine-growing regions in western Slovenia: Brda, the Vipava Valley and Kras, with the hope of attracting visitors to stay in the area for more than just one day. The 93-kilometre route is suitable for all cyclists, including families with children, on both regular and e-bikes.

The project Bike Time was developed as part of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) to promote spending time outdoors in contact with the local community and to invite visitors to stay in the area for multiple days.
The route spans 93 kilometres with a total ascend of 1,084 metres across a diverse landscape, passing sights including Rihemberk Castle, Miren Castle, Nova Gorica and Gorizia's Europe Square and the Vipolže Villa.
The project began in September 2023 with the goal of connecting micro destinations of Brda, the Vipava Valley and Kras. The project was worth almost EUR 100,000 with nearly EUR 70,000 co-funded from the Leader fund, which is financed from the EAFRD.
In addition to setting up the trail, the route was also digitalised and equipped with signposts. Workshops for tourism providers and tours of the cycling route were also organised and promotional materials created.
