Potocnik Takes over One of Biggest Departments in Brussels

Brussels, 22 November - Janez Potocnik assumed his five-year term in office at the European Commission on Monday like the rest of Jose Manuel Barroso's team. Commissioner for Science and Research Potocnik will also be responsible for the Directorate General for Research, with a staff of 2,200 one of the biggest DGs, as well as the Joint Research Centre.
