Parliament Backs Police Act Amendments

Ljubljana, 26 May - The National Assembly passed amendments to the police act in a 50:27 vote on Tuesday. Although all but two parties backed the motion, several more were critical of the main and most controversial change under which the interior minister will be able to select the police commissioner without publishing a call for applications.
