Agorkor Withdraws Mercator Takeover Bid

Ljubljana, 7 February - Croatian food group Agrokor has decided after months of unsuccessful efforts to acquire a 52.1% stake in Slovenia's leading grocer Mercator to withdraw its bid. Agrokor cited on Tuesday failure to reach any kind of agreement with the sellers, a consortium of banks and beverage group Pivovarna Lasko, as the reason for its decision.
