Ptuj Carnival Procession Celebrating 140th Birthday

Ptuj, 15 January - The traditional carnival in Ptuj, dubbed "Kurentovanje" after its distinctive figure, the kurent, will be held between 3 and 12 February. While the largest carnival in Central Europe will take place for the 53rd time in this form, 140 years are already passing since the first carnival procession was held in what is Slovenia's oldest town.
