Slovenian Culture Celebrated with Number of Events
Ljubljana, 8 February - A series of events will be organised around the country on Culture Day, a bank holiday in honour of Slovenian culture, which is considered one of the keystones which has enabled Slovenian people to withstand pressure from nations under whose rule they lived for centuries.

Culture Day observed in Slovenia in memory of poet France Prešeren (1840-1849), who made it to the Slovenian national side of the two-euro coin in 2007 when the country introduced the euro.
