Peterle out of race for EU Parliament president
Brussels, 13 December - Slovenian conservative MEP Lojze Peterle will not become the European People's Party's (EPP) nominee for European Parliament president. After the first round of voting in the party on Tuesday, Peterle and two other candidates withdrew their bids, leaving the nomination to Antonio Tajani, a former European commissioner from Italy.
