UN declares 20 May World Bee Day on Slovenia's initiative

New York, 20 December - The UN General Assembly unanimously endorsed on Wednesday Slovenia's initiative to declare 20 May, the date of the birth of Slovenian beekeeper Anton Janša, World Bee Day. The initiative was launched in 2014 by the Slovenian Beekeeping Association as a way of highlighting the role of honeybees in agriculture.
