Information Commissioner cannot issue fines over new data protection rules
Ljubljana, 25 May - As the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a key piece of EU legislation about personal data privacy, entered into force on Friday, Information Commissioner Mojca Prelesnik warned that her office did not have the power to issue fines because Slovenia has not yet transposed the directive into its national legislation.
