Nova Gorica: City born from political idea after WWII

Nova Gorica, 27 November - Nova Gorica, the city in western Slovenia to become the European Capital of Culture 2025 along its Italian neighbour Gorizia, is the youngest city in the country. Nowadays considered a collage of styles, it first started off as a carefully planned political project in the early years of the former Yugoslavia.
