New PM Rop Has More Elan but Less Power than Drnovsek, Dnevnik Suggests

Ljubljana, 20 December - On Thursday, Slovenia got a new government - the seventh after its first democratic elections - and a new, that is fourth prime minister. No basic changes are really to be expected in the government's conduct upon Anton Rop's appointment. After all, during Janez Drnovsek's government, Rop used to be state secretary and then Labour Minister, while he spent the last two years as finance minister, often leading the government in Drnovsek's absence (and not only), a Ljubljana-based daily says on Friday.
