Drnovsek Hands PM Office to Rop and Resigns as LDS Leader

Ljubljana, 20 December - Janez Drnovsek handed over the prime minister's office to Anton Rop on Friday, expressing satisfaction that the new government was appointed without any troubles. The former PM also resigned as the leader of the senior ruling coalition partner Liberal Democrats (LDS) and froze his party membership before he is sworn in as Slovenia's new president on Sunday afternoon.
