Mixed Future for Small Corporations as Slovenia Joins EU

Ljubljana, 25 December - The Slovenian accession to the EU should present small- and medium-sized companies in the country with new opportunities and challenges. The effects of the biggest EU enlargement to date - 10 new members are to join the EU in May of 2004 - is expected to be different for each company, the Economics Ministry has told STA. The biggest benefits of being part of the common market will be enjoyed by those companies that already export to the EU, as well as in liberalised sectors that are used to tough competition.
