Allocation of Portfolios in New European Commission

Brussels, 12 August - The president of the new European Commission that will assume office on 1 November on Thursday announced the allocation of portfolios. As the new team in Brussels will have 25 members together with President Jose Manuel Barroso, there are altogether 24 portfolios. The Commission also has five vice-presidents. Slovenian commissioner was put in charge of science and research. The final stamp of approval to the new lineup will have to be given by the European Parliament.
