Danilo Tuerk, the New Slovenian President

Ljubljana, 11 November - Danilo Tuerk (55), the new Slovenian president, entered the presidential race as a little-known albeit distinguished diplomat having spent 13 years at the United Nations. Yet this would prove an advantage in a field of candidates present on the political scene since the country won independence.
