Slovenians Elect Tuerk New President
Ljubljana, 11 November - Slovenian voters have overwhelmingly elected former senior UN diplomat Danilo Tuerk the new president of Slovenia. Tuerk (55) received more than two-thirds of the vote against seasoned campaigner Lojze Peterle in Sunday's run-off for the largely ceremonial post.
