Party Leaders Confident about Elections, Expect Run-off (DUE TO ELECTION CALM EMBARGOED UNTIL 7PM)

Ljubljana/Grosuplje/Maribor, 10 November - The leaders of parliamentary parties do not expect the name of Slovenia's new president to be known until the run-off. Most of the parties, notably the Social Democrats (SDS), expect to improve their rating in the local elections. Head of the ruling coalition United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD) feels changes in the air, while the National Party (SNS) leader predicts his party to be a big surprise of the elections.
