Presidential Candidates Touch on Arms Smuggling and Danish Real-Estate Proposal

Ljubljana, 29 November - The two candidates running for the Slovenian presidency in Sunday's run-off, Barbara Brezigar and Janez Drnovsek, downplayed the claims that the Port of Koper may be involved in the smuggling of arms for the Iraqi regime as they squared off in a televised debate on the commercial POP TV late on Thursday. The two were more at odds as they touched on the compromise package of the Danish EU presidency, casting different views on what the country should do with the offer for a seven-year transitional period on the sale of real-estate to EU citizens.
