Gov't Dissolved as Drnovsek Steps Down

Ljubljana, 4 December - The Slovenian parliament has dissolved the government as Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek tendered in his resignation on Wednesday. The resignation allows Drnovsek to assume the post of president by 22 December after being elected last Sunday, while it also opens the door to the formation of a new government. Outgoing President Milan Kucan has already called consultations with deputy groups on a new prime minister-designate.
