Economics Professor Proposed for New Finance Minister

Ljubljana, 10 December - Candidate for prime minister-designate Anton Rop is to propose economics professor Dusan Mramor as his successor to the post of finance minister. As the Finance Ministry said Tuesday, Rop took the decision after additional talks with Mramor and representatives of the Ljubljana University and the Economics Faculty. Mramor told STA that he is convinced that co-operation with the outgoing finance minister will be good, because it is in their common interest to solve some urgent EU-membership-related issues as soon as possible.
