Second Round Confirms Reign of Independents
Ljubljana, 24 October - The second round of voting in local elections confirmed the appeal of independent candidates, who won 22 mayoral races on Sunday for a total of 70 in 208 municipalities. Among established political powers the People's Party (SLS) and Democrats (SDS) asserted their local dominance.
