Second Round Confirms Reign of Independents
Ljubljana, 24 October - The second round of voting in local elections confirmed the appeal of independent candidates, who won 22 mayoral races on Sunday for a total of 70 in 208 municipalities. Among established political powers the People's Party (SLS) and the Democrats (SDS) affirmed their local dominance, but all parties appear satisfied.
